Ways of Thinking and Making

Over the past few weeks I have been trying to get through this book written by Daniel Serig. The book is written in an academic fashion and is like several dissertations on varying issues within the realm of visual metaphor. The book displays a very high level of thinking which can sometimes become rather hard to digest in large chunks as many things require a great deal of thought. I like this as it is far more challenging than anything I have ever previously read. However this requires time to understand fully and as I have begun to realise that my own project is unlikely to involve visual metaphor solely this will become a reference book I can turn to as needed for now. I seem to be slowly realising that my project might involve reading into several subjects and possibly become a far wider subject base to research than what I had previously imagined. Visual metaphor may become a tool I can use in my work along with others such a symbolism and morphism. This book covers several aspects of visual metaphor, from context and concepts to different approaches into studying visual metaphor. Some extracts from this book are shown below.
