wc 01/02/16 progress, reflection and ideas

Progress

This week has largely been taken up by experimentation with digital brushes and textures. The programme shows that these experimental works and case studies should all be finished. Progress with the second dummy version is still held up whilst I wait on slivery of inks for my printer.
Works should have begun on the final dummy version but I am 2-3 weeks behind schedule.

Reflection

This week may seem like I have made little progress but I have been busy so hopefully all these little experiments and organising/naming brushes etc will save me time later in the project. I perhaps should have realised that having two or three main things to work o within the same week would cause problems, however I did want to push myself with the project. I have also come to realise that I do not have a particular style or way of drawing or painting that I seem to prefer. I tend to work with different mediums on each project, depending on what I think feels best suited. My views upon the story and ideas for images are coming together though and I can definitely see development in both textual and visual elements. Although I am behind schedule this has been allowed for in the original programme as there was always a risk of this taking longer than planned.

Ideas

My priorities need to be to finish the second dummy version to see how the story is working. I also want to finish the second and third case studies this week. Once these are complete I will create a new programme of works, this will help define exactly what I need to do to catch up. The programme is also required as I have changed my thoughts on how the works should progress. Initially I had the first two images being worked on to completion, however I now feel that each image should be taken to the same rather rough stage, then two or three images will be picked to take towards final images. This method will allow me to judge all the images and decide which I think are the strongest and most dynamic to take to completion.
