After finding out about being able to send five illustrations into Bologna fair in order to gain free tickets to the event I decided to compile some images. I didn't initially have a set of five illustrations at hand, so I decided to begin with an image I had created for a previous project (Fig 1). This was based on the Travels of Baron Munchausen. I also began in the usual fashion of little thumbnails and sketching ideas. The entries must be received by the 9th October and after looking into postal delivery times I realised that to be sure of delivery on time I really needed to post the images on Friday 2nd October. This meant that I really didn't have adequate time for planning. I decided to mash up some existing drawings and create some new images from them with additional drawings I could manage within the timescale to create a further four images.
This occurred due to me as the realisation that sending the images on time was the priority, not the quality of the images themselves. The practise still served me well as it showed me how quickly I can produce rough ideas. The aim was to hopefully receive free tickets which cost around 70 euros for last years event. The images are shown below which I really do not expect much of a response from but hope that they serve their purpose.
