1st draft: Shaun Tan

I have written up the first draft of my first case study on the artist Shaun Tan. This has been written as though it is for my dissertation, however I know it will likely change as I become more aware of what is expected with regards to the dissertation. My initial thoughts are that I am happy with this first case study, I shall consider how the question contained within the analytical framework may be altered added to but most importantly improved. I have also realised that this first case study seems rather extensive. I have had a look at a previous students dissertation in which they carried out four case studies all of which were single picture books. I have analysed three for the one case study and also the artists methods of working and ways of thinking. This is most likely due to my interest in this artists work as one day I hope to emulate his success and establish an attitude of creating work for me first and foremost once my own voice comes through my work. This first draft is shown below.
