Progress
More work has been carried out on first case study although further work required to complete.
The programme shows that two case studies should have been completed along with some experimental works. The next week shows that the second version of the dummy book should be created by the end of the week. The fourth Picture hooks talk will take place on Saturday.
Currently still over a week behind schedule.
Reflection
I have perhaps taken more time off than I had allowed for but this really was needed. I have been considering this as the half way point in the project and reflecting upon the work that went into the first half, both in Uni and my two jobs were physically and mentally demanding. The same will be the case for the next four months so spending time resting over Christmas was both needed and was the only opportunity for a rest. This means I start the year with the challenge of being behind schedule but I am happy with the work done for the first case study so far.
Ideas
First I must complete the first case study on artist Shaun Tan. This requires me to discuss his methods of working, some of which I may experiment with myself to see how they might affect my own work. I then need to write a comprehensive piece that would be sufficient for my dissertation. Next I will carry out the second case study as this might also affect the experimental works I do. The two case studies being written up and experimental works are all I should consider right now, it is very unlikely that a second version of the dummy book will be produced this week. After reading papers by Shaun Tan I realise how important the experimental phases are so I don't want to just rush through them in order to catch up with the programme.
